Hi,
I joined the bioinformatics lab at 2011-10-03. I will assume two roles:
- supporting others with using the grid / administering the server "orange" (20h)
- internship / master thesis: how to use the grid in a secure way, improving e-health privacy (36h)
Bio
I have worked for an internet startup (Intapps), press industry (Dimagroup), and others. My education includes political science (MA, Leiden,
http://www.epd-enquete.nl/) and medical informatics (finishing master, UvA). I also have a few IT certifications (MCSE, ITIL, AMBI).
Role I: support for e-bioscience
Currently, I am the first person responding to ebioscience-support-request emails. Further, I will try to solve those incidents and underlying problems. In the future, I might also be a liason to the
BigGrid.
- At the AMC: Tuesday and Thursday (6 hours)
- At home: all other days, afternoon
- Email support at ebioscience amc nl
Role II: internship
When you send medical data (genetics / images) to "the grid", you basically send it to computers in other organizations, unknown to you. They can copy all that data without you knowing it. That might be a big risk for e-health privacy. I am interested in how to minimize the risks involved, maybe by taking organizational / policy measures, but ultimately a technical solution would be best. I have 8 to 9 months to finish this scientific research project in order to complete my master medical informatics.
Personal
Some of the things I like after work include chess, running, kayaking, movies, political science, playing dawn of war, camping, ...
